  1. Diana,
I found your video very informative. It seems that traditional home-schooled and online K-12 students face some of same challenges, especially when it comes to socialization. It would only seem fair that if home-schooled students are allowed to participate in public school activities that it should also extend to virtual school students within a district.

I heard your music at the very beginning and I wished you would have carried it throughout the entire presentation. It would have helped to fill the void where you used images to transition from one point to the next.

    1. Kanelia,
I totally agree with you! I tried so hard to synchronize the background music with my voice, but I couldn't. I wanted so badly to have that nice melody embedded on each slide, but after three sleepless nights, I gave up. I have so much to learn about editing videos. Regarding the content of my video presentation, I believe that virtual schools should only be offered to home schooled, children who live in rural areas, and gifted students because any other mainstream children need to learn social skills. If parents choose to deprive their children of learning social skills, virtual schools are the best alternative. There will be some kind of human interaction with other children and educators. Unfortunately, students who live in rural areas don't have any other choice. On the other hand, gifted students who already attented some primary grades in a regular school, are perfect candidates for this type of instruction. My middle daughter is a gifted student since she was in Kindergarten. In first grade, she was already reading and had the lexile level of an eight grader. She is the one who wanted to stop going to regular school, and signed up in a virtual school, so she could devote time to her passion in life; golf. She doens't need much help because she is extremely organized and structured. Any other child should attend traditional schools until high school. Then, young adults could be able to handle the online learning structure/setting. Yes! I strongly believe that virtual school students should be able to attend school activities in a regular basis.

  2. Well done. The video was very informative. I had a problem with the slides because they were loaded, and it was the same information you were narrating. I decided to listen to your voice narration rather than read what was on the slide. You might need to synchronize the clips for better viewing, and reduce the text on your slides.
